Le Lapin and the Dutch identity
Dutch More or Less will be a two-year major exhibition, bringing together approximately 60-80 works that show the fields of architecture, design and digital culture in the Netherlands from the 1990s to the present.
Together with 10 other loaned pieces, the original Le Lapin kettle will be part of the '90's Design' section of the exhibition.
Dutch, More or Less is an evolving exhibition on contemporary architecture, design and digital culture, spanning from the rise of ‘Dutch Design’ in the 1990s to the modern era and beyond. The exhibition looks at how these disciplines have developed, intersected and responded to the changing ecological and social landscape, while exploring what this can tell us about the Netherlands, Dutch identity and the future. That’s why, alongside the main exhibition, Dutch, More or Less has also invited new designers to present their visions of what comes next.
The exhibition is organized by the Rotterdam 'Nieuwe Instituut'. Exhibition dates: June 1, 2024 - May 26, 2026
Unfortunately, the original kettle mentioned above is no longer for sale, but instead the redesigned electric kettle is now available. This way, the iconic Le Lapin design, more than 30 years later, remains relevant and up-to-date.
